Entre chienne et loup

Oil · 2026

In this work, Chloé Kaemmerer explores the melancholic beauty of ordinary places. A deserted parking lot, bathed in artificial light and twilight, becomes a silent, almost dreamlike stage. The sky, fading from pink to blue, seems suspended in time, contrasting with the cold, wet asphalt that reflects the streetlights and the outlines of parked cars. In the foreground, the solitary figure of a dog intensifies the strangeness of the scene. It embodies a quiet yet vivid presence, teetering between the human and the wild. The overall atmosphere is cinematic — steeped in nostalgia and anticipation — with every element carrying a sense of latent meaning. This painting is part of the artist’s broader approach, which aims to reveal the hidden poetry of peri-urban landscapes and to capture modern solitude in its most subtle forms.
