We are building the whole thing in one town first: real creators, real places showing work, real money reaching the people who made it. A model that works in one town is the only kind worth carrying to another.

What we are trying to make happen

More art in the places people already are, whether that is a coffee shop, somebody's living room, or a field outside of town. More ways for creators to earn from work they already make. More reason for a community to keep its culture close to home.

If it works here, it can travel

Where LAN goes after Boulder depends on people on the ground, places willing to show work, and what we can genuinely support at the time. Knowing where the interest already is helps us think about that honestly.

What sending this does, and what it does not

  • It tells us your place is on someone's mind. That is the whole of it, and it is genuinely useful to us.
  • It is not an application. There is nothing to be accepted into and no queue to wait in.
  • It is not a promise that LAN will operate where you live, and it is not a date.
  • It is not an offer of funding, payment, a job, or work of any kind.
  • We may never be able to reach your part of the world. We would rather say that plainly than let you read something else into a form.
