Richard Harding is a fiber artist based in Ashland, VA, whose practice centers around exploring traditional techniques found in basketry. Using the medium of thread, twine, and rope, Harding creates soft sculptures that evoke elements of basketry and pottery, while also incorporating his own unique vision and aesthetic. Through the meticulous chording sewn in concentric circles, organic forms emerge, creating a sense of cultural parallels and a connection to the natural world.
